Time is running out to make a real difference in Myanmar (Burma), by donating to the Red Cross Myanmar (Burma) Cyclone Appeal. The Peregrine Community Trust has been supporting this
campaign in recent weeks by matching your private donations dollar-for-dollar through our Community Trust *.
We are exceptionally pleased to announce that, with your help, we have now reached our $20,000 fundraising target. A huge thank you to all Peregrine newsletter subscribers for their generous response to our call for help. Although we can no longer match your donation dollar for dollar, the Red Cross Myanmar Appeal is still open and your contribution will help the estimated 2.5 million people who have been affected by the cyclone.

Myanmar Red Cross aid worker, Joe Lowry, says threats to public health are growing rapidly. “Survivors displaced from their homes are sheltering in makeshift accommodation, or badly damaged schools and pagodas (temples), where sanitation is extremely poor and there is a lack of clean drinking water”. At present, the Red Cross are one of only a few aid agencies having success in bringing aid into the country and dispatching it to the devastated areas. So, if it to the devastated areas. So, if you want to make a difference with your donations please give to this appeal as your assistance is guaranteed to help the people of Myanmar (Burma) immediately. You can make a donation to the Myanmar (Burma) Cyclone Appeal by clicking here. Your donation will:
- Support the relief and recovery needs of households and communities affected by Cyclone Nargis, including clean water, emergency shelter and household items
- Send specialist aid workers to assist in the Red Cross response
- Assist Myanmar Red Cross in preparing and responding to this and future emergencies
